Tracking Inventory For SKU Products - Product Level Or SKU Level

When Inventory Control is activated, do products with attributes track Inventory at the Product or the SKU level?
Response:
With Inventory Control (Settings/Site Options/Inventory Control) in the Order Management System activated, products with attributes may track Inventory at either the Product or the SKU level, as designated by the merchant. The choice is made on Page 1 of the New/Edit Product screen.
