Using the Order Management System dashboard, I notice that the orders / view at a category level can be higher than the orders / view of any item within that category. Also, when I add views for each product within a category, the total is higher than the reported views for the whole category. The same is true for categories and the store. Can you explain how the views by SKU, category and store are calculated and how the are the same or different than Google Analytics "visits"?
Response:
Storefront views, Category views, and Product Views are calculated independently from one another. For example, the total views for all product detail pages in a given category may be greater or less than the total views for that category. Please note that unlike the Sales Chart which considers only a product's primary category, the Activity Statistics consider all products in a given category. Also note that the data includes only activity performed in the Online Store, and does not include activity related to placing and editing orders in the Order Management System.
In Google Analytics, a visit is a group of interactions that take place on your website within a given time frame. For example a single visit can contain multiple pageviews, events, social interactions, custom variables, and e-commerce transactions.
