I have a large catalog and my online store is running slower than I would like. What can be done to speed it up?

Making the following adjustments will speed up your store:
In Layout/General Layout, make sure you are using the Nexternal.NET Online Store Version. This is the single most important change you can make.
In Settings/Boolean Options, make sure that Show Empty Categories is on.
In Settings/Boolean Options, make sure that ATC Advanced Validation Option is off.
In Layout/Main Layout, turn off Use Current Category.
Upload images that are optimized for the display size. In other words, do not upload an image that is 1000x800 pixels in size and then use the scale option to change the display size. Resizing images reduces the file size and increases performance.
To speed up the search feature, turn off Search All in Settings/Boolean Options.
If you are using the persistent category template, be sure to turn on Always Refresh (Layout/Main Layout/Persistent Category Section Options)
Make sure Category Link Elevation is turned off for call categories where it is not needed.
