I need to stop customers from being notified by system email when their CC needs updating. AND / OR shutting off all subscriptions during the time period we cannot ship out because of the COVID19 virus.
Response:
First you would need to decide which subscriptions you want to delay. For example, if today is April 9, do you want to delay all subscriptions? Or just the subscriptions with a next order date of April 9 though May 31, leaving intact all subscriptions with next order dates after May 31.
If you want to delay just a portion of the subscriptions based on next order date, navigate to subscriptions / advanced search, enter the next order date range you have decided you want to delay, and click Search.
Once you have your list, you will need to edit each one individually. Edit each Subscription order and update the Next Order Date value to a later date (for example, June 8th). This will prevent the system from creating their next subscription order during a time when you cannot ship, AND it *should* (we believe) postpone if/when the system sends out a Credit Card Expired Notification Email (we believe this only occurs if the customer's credit card is declined when the system attempts to create the subscription order).
Please keep a separate list of all of the subscriptions you change, for your records. You can do this with a screenshot, or by making notes on a separate spreadsheet, or however you are comfortable. In any event, there will be no way to go back into the system to determine which ones were changed, so you need to keep the record separately for later reference should you need it.
If you wish to simply terminate a subscription instead of delaying it, simply enter an Expiration date of today in the subscription.
